Elliott Chaze
Lewis Elliott Chaze (1915-1990) was an American war veteran, journalist, and novelist. During World War II, he served as a paratrooper and technical sergeant in the 11th Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. After the war, Chaze rejoined the Associated Press (AP) in New Orleans, then transferred to the APs Denver Bureau. In 1951, Chaze moved to Mississippi, began working as a reporter and became an award-winning columnist for the Hattiesburg American newspaper in the city of Hattiesburg.
