Rhys Hughes
Rhys Hughes (b. 1966) started writing short stories at the age of six but had to wait until he was 29 before his first book, Worming the Harpy, was published. Since then he has published another 22 volumes and 670 individual tales and has been translated into 10 different languages. He describes his work as ironic fantasy.
His main influences are Italo Calvino, Donald Barthelme and Flann O'Brien. He came late to the work of Lovecraft and wishes he had discovered him sooner.
