David C. Verba
David C. Verba was born and raised on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio. He started doing artwork at the age of 12. Surrealism, astronomy, Lovecraft, and archaeology provided a wealth of ideas and inspiration at that time. In 1980 he graduated from The Cleveland Institute of Art with a B.F.A. in drawing. Almost immediately afterwards he became an ELS teacher in the same remote and legend rich area that Lafcadio Hearn lived in when he first came to Japan. Kent State University and a M.F.A. in painting followed, and then five years exhibiting his artwork and teaching once again throughout Japan. While not producing artwork, he enjoys book collecting, antiques, hiking, and traveling.
